Rock Steady Boxing Coach / Parkinson’s Exercise Instructor
About Us Synaptic Performance & Wellness is seeking a motivated, dependable, and energetic coach to join our Rock Steady Boxing program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Our program is focused on helping people move better, feel stronger, and improve quality of life through purposeful, high-energy, Parkinson’s-specific exercise.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with people, able to lead a class confidently, and interested in being part of a supportive and mission-driven team.
Position Overview The Rock Steady Boxing Coach will lead group exercise classes for individuals with Parkinson’s disease in a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment. Classes may include boxing-based movements, balance training, functional strengthening, coordination drills, and large-amplitude movement strategies tailored to each participant’s abilities.
Responsibilities
Lead Rock Steady Boxing classes in a safe, motivating, and organized manner
Provide appropriate exercise modifications based on participant ability and safety needs
Help set up before class and clean up after class
Monitor class flow and participant safety throughout sessions
Encourage a positive, supportive community atmosphere
Communicate professionally with team members and participants
Follow company procedures and maintain professionalism at all times
Qualifications
Experience leading group fitness, boxing-based fitness, personal training, therapeutic exercise, or similar programs preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable working with older adults and individuals with neurologic conditions
Dependable, energetic, and able to lead with confidence
CPR certification required or willingness to obtain
Rock Steady Boxing training/certification preferred, or willingness to complete required training
A background in fitness, exercise science, kinesiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field is preferred
Candidates may include licensed physical therapists or others with relevant fitness, rehab, or coaching experience
Preferred Background
Experience working with Parkinson’s disease or other neurologic populations is a plus
Physical therapy license, PTA license, personal training certification, group fitness certification, or similar credentials are welcome
