    ABOUT THE JOB:

    Rocket is looking for a passionate user experience designer to develop the next-generation of enterprise software experiences.  Somebody who is fluent in all areas of the UX spectrum, all the way from user research, data interpretation, ideation, UI design to development and implementation. The User Experience Engineer will work to understand user goals, business goals, technology and design constraints to create a user experience that will deliver success._ _

    We are looking for technical thinkers who are versatile and passionate to take on new challenges to push well-established technologies forward while ensuring the performance and security that our customers expect.  You’ll partner with Researchers and Designers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts and assist with final implementation.

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The User Experience Engineer will:

    • Design information architectures, taxonomies, and component and page layout wireframes that turn very complex systems into clear, navigable, and valuable applications for specialized users.
    • Work closely with Engineering and Product Management to ensure UX goals are incorporated into project timelines and schedules.
    • Lead the iterative design review process with project teams, acquiring consensus and approvals on designs and documentation. Communicate user experiences through storyboarding, detailed wireframes, task flow diagrams, design specifications and other documentation.
    • Apply a design thinking approach in creating design solutions that address both business and user needs with empathy.
    • Plan and conduct user research and usability testing. This includes surveys, interviews, customer advisory groups, test strategies and scenarios.
    • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient & effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, and metrics.
    • Act as a usability advocate and consultant to project teams providing expert guidance and thought leadership regarding principles of information architecture, user-centered design and industry best practices.

     

    TECHNOLOGIES

    • Experienced in Axure and/or Sketch interactive wireframing and prototyping
    • Experienced in remote usability testing tools
    • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS
    • Familiarity with mainframe and/or database management is a plus

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in HCI/Human Factors or relevant discipline (computer science, industrial design, architecture, psychology, etc.) preferred.
    • Must have a portfolio with examples of relevant interaction design work.
    • Unmistakable passion for elegant and purposeful interfaces
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant UX work experience.
    • Proven success as a UX generalist capable of leading efforts throughout the product development cycle, including user research, early prototyping, detailed design and validation.
    • Demonstrated ability to incorporate user-centered design principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces.
    • Experience preparing and conducting user-centered research including customer visits, usability studies, surveys, and feedback sessions.
    • Experience improving the usability of enterprise software with experience designing UIs for responsive web and desktop applications.
    • Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
    • Solid knowledge of and ability to apply accessibility guidelines as well as internationalization best practices.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Solid visual design skills.
