    We are currently searching for Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for our Selma, TX manufacturing facility.

     

    The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler’s job is to improve work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. This role directly oversees the development of work schedules in support of the Maintenance Supervisor.   Together with Maintenance and Production leadership, this role is jointly responsible for the tasks required to ensure effective capacity utilization, reliability, and life cycle asset management.

     

    Specific Responsibilities include: 

    • Develops both long and short-range plans & schedules, ensuring that safety is considered when developing every job plan.
    • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders to identify and document job requirements, including required labor hours, total work duration and skills required to perform the task.
    • Serve as primary point of contact between Production and Maintenance, balancing the need for daily output with the need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
    • Partner with Facilities Supervisor to ensure weekly Work Schedules and Work Planning packages are communicated and executed in accordance with plan.
    • Maintain bill of materials information for each asset within area of responsibility.
    • Create purchase requisitions and stock reservations for planned work to include services and materials.
    • Provide cost estimates, including labor, materials, and contract services, for each work order.
    • Develop a library of Task Lists for recurring tasks.
    • Keep Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations, seeking advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
    • Review work order feedback information to improve future planning efforts.
    • Expedite scheduling of safety-related work.
    • Allocate materials to jobs on the weekly schedule.

    Required Skills

    • Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a Planner/Scheduler in an Industrial Maintenance Manufacturing environment
    • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance practices required
    • Preference given to candidates who have experience setting up/implementing new CMMS system(s)
    • The ability to interpret and use the following (to develop job plans):
      • piping and instrumentation diagrams
      • equipment drawings
      • predictive maintenance reporting
      • hydraulic and electrical schematics
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written necessary
    • Ability to use project management applications and other resource scheduling applications required
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities necessary

     

    EDUCATION:

    • HS Diploma required; Preference given to candidates with Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent 2 year Technical Diploma from an accredited learning institution
    • Preference given to candidates with formal Maintenance Planner/Scheduler training (i.e. Certified Maintenance Management System certification)
