Rocktops has an immediate opening for a Full Time CAD Programmer to join our team. The CAD Operator is responsible for supporting sales through the technical project development process. The ideal candidate will confidently interface with Sales and Operations to deliver optimized project solutions to customers while consistently practicing our company CORE VALUES: Problem Solving, Work Ethic, and Positivity.

TYPICAL DUTIES (illustrative, not inclusive):

Responsible for processing orders for countertops, vanities, and fireplace surrounds.

Demonstrates technical manufacturing skills and product knowledge in all areas of production.

Work closely with sales staff to ensure a smooth transition from order entry to order processing.

Complete understanding of facility automation and work station functions.

Demonstrate the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners, architects, designers, homeowners, and decision-makers.

Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Interface with customers, subcontractors, operations, and sales to discuss the impact of work and resolution of problems.

Template Review: Review digital and hand-drawings & measurements for completeness, accuracy, nomenclature, etc (jobs with incomplete info are kicked back to Sales or Templator)

Verify that template info matches Moraware info. Question variances. Look for Customer signature on field changes (kick back to Sales / Templator as necessary). Update Moraware with square footage and other field-verified data

Convert Templator’s digital or hand-drawings to Cad / Alphacam.

Prepare job for Programming. Insert seams, sinks, faucets, etc., and other Customer specifications into drawings

Submit completed drawing to Sales for approval, as needed

Create / maintain digital sink and appliance libraries

IDEAL QUALITIES:

Strong computer skills

Strong communications skills both oral and written

Must be able to work in a fast past environment while ensuring 100% accuracy and maintaining square footage quotas.

Must have an understanding of the importance of material yield while maintaining a quality finished product.

2 years of experience in CAD related position required, preferable in the countertop industry.

2 years of AutoCad experience required

Proficiency in 2D CAD software

2 years or more professional experience preferred

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously

Ability to work as part of a team and also be able to work autonomously when necessary

Countertop fabrication / installation experience preferred
