    Job Description

    Our client is seeking a Financial Operations Associate who can apply analytical and project management skills to the on-going management of inforce policies. This position does not require insurance industry experience, but a candidate must be comfortable in not only structuring and managing projects, but also analyzing data and facilitating solutions in different subject areas. A candidate can expect to grow knowledge in the following:

    • Life, Annuity, and Long Term Care (LTC) products
    • All aspects of insurance operations such as policy owner services, claims, actuarial, regulatory reporting and compliance, accounting, and financial reporting

    Major Responsibilities and time spent:

    • In Force Management:
      1. Determine frequency and content of financial and non-financial reports, analyze results, identify key trends, and troubleshoot problem areas/mitigate risk
      2. Collaborate with partners to establish or refine policies and procedures that define the necessary aspects of administration
      3. Contribute to internal and external reporting and presentations (e.g. Board reporting)
      4. Assist in the general oversight of third parties that provide operational services
      5. Assist in monitoring Service Level Agreements and other operational aspects for in force management activities

       

    • Project Management: general responsibilities applicable to all project-based work (20%)
      1. Break-down high-level scope into the applicable work items across multiple disciplines and organizations
      2. Define project scope, goals, and approach in collaboration with key contributors
      3. Establish project plans including milestones, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables
      4. Manage the entire project lifecycle through tracking, analyzing, and mitigating risks and issues
      5. Communicate and manage project expectations to owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion

     

    REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

    • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
    • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
    • Exceptional ability to simultaneously track, prioritize, and organize multiple projects and tasks
