    Job Description

    We are seeking an energetic, dedicated person to fill a Medical Office Receptionist position with some Medical Assistant responsibilities at Rocky Mountain Kidney Care, LLC, at our Aurora, Colorado location.   

    The primary responsibilities of this position are:

    Medical Office Receptionist:

    • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. 
    • Primary for answering telephone, screens and directs calls, takes messages and provides information, and documents as appropriate.
    • Issues forms to patients to complete, gives clear instructions and offers assistance. Reviews all forms for completion and signatures. 
    • Checks in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical record, obtains copies of ID and insurance card(s); takes patients photo.
    • Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information
    • Confirms appointments.
    • Ensures all calls returned by End of Day, consistently documenting in Patient’s chart details of every call/visit.  
    • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information, per HIPAA; and patient safety per OSHA guidelines.

     

    Medical Assistant: 

    • Preps charts in advance and day of appt. This includes getting records and calling patients. Also verifying that appointments are made correctly.
    • Greets, receives, and rooms patients for appointments/procedures; conducts interviews with patients, measures vital signs, and records information.
    • Maintains patients’ rooms and stocks rooms and supply orders.
    • Scans documents in charts.
    • Schedules radiology and lab appointments, biopsies, IV infusions and referral appts.
    • Obtains authorization for prescriptions and procedures.
    • Documents all phone calls and data for patient visit for rooming and vaccinations

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Education:  High school diploma or GED, 
    • Completion of formal training program as nursing/medical assistant and/or comparable experience in clinical setting is preferred 
    • Knowledge of medical terminology. 
    • Exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills 
    • Ability to defusing tense situations through diplomatic problem-solving
    • Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
    • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
    • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Strong charting/documentation skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
    • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
    • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
    • Ability to operate computer and other office equipment
    • Three years’ experience working in direct patient care scenarios is preferred.

     

    Physical Job Requirements:

    • Frequent long periods of standing, bending, stooping, walking, sitting
    • The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
