POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Rodman to join our crew. Under the direction of the Surveyor, the Rodman plays an essential role in supporting survey operations. This entry-level position involves assisting in taking precise measurements and working from engineering plans to establish lines, grades, and other critical data necessary for civil construction projects. The Rodman ensures accuracy, organization, and efficiency in all assigned tasks, contributing to the overall success of surveying efforts in projects spanning streets, underground utilities, traffic signals, and bridges.

YOUR ROLE
- Operate and maintain basic surveying equipment, including total stations, levels, GPS systems, and other essential tools.
- Prepare and organize survey materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks, ensuring the survey truck is clean, stocked, and ready for operation.
- Read and interpret basic project plans, drawings, and diagrams under the guidance of the Surveyor.
- Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades, alignments, and other measurements as directed.
- Assist in calculating and determining lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, and distances.
- Record engineering notes and data accurately for each jobsite, ensuring proper documentation for project records.
- Collaborate with the Surveyor and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and task execution.
- Maintain professional relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Surveyor.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or a related field preferred.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance to meet the demands of outdoor fieldwork.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and reliable results.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in varying locations and schedules, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and professionalism.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to excellence in all tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Rodman role involves frequent physical activity, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and walking over uneven terrain. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, ensuring safety while performing tasks in potentially challenging environments, including confined spaces and heights.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required.
