    What You’ve Accomplished

    You have completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related Engineering degree. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, have worked in an engineering role for at least 0-2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

    You may have also acquired the following skills:

    • Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
    • Familiarity with the Pressurized Water Reactors and interest in plant system thermal-hydraulic and core response during transients.
    • Possess a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution.
    • Display positive and effective team interaction.
    • Familiarity with the safety and licensing regulations required for US commercial Nuclear Power Plants.
    • Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents.

As an Early Career LOCA Safety Analysis Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:

    • Performing new or revising existing small break and large break loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) analyses using a Framatome version of RELAP5.
    • Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design changes on existing LOCA analyses.
    • Contributing to methods development activities in support of new fuel products.
    • Contributing to the development of automation and software tool to improve operating efficiency.
    • Interfacing with other engineering teams to ensure successful customer delivery.

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $63,000 - $82,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
