    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Project Development Manager (PDM) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and satisfying the commercial, regulatory, technical, and financial requirements of projects undertaken by the company, in new and existing markets, domestically and abroad. The PDM will also serve as a member of the RAE management team.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify and pursue project opportunities throughout global market sectors of agricultural, energy, chemical, petro-chemical, etc., that are related to RAE’s vision of renewable energy and land restoration.
    • Interface with both domestic and international customers in meetings, presentations and negotiations.
    • Identify opportunities for project development and develop techno-economic feasibility studies.
    • Identify all project development requirements for the creation of new projects, including site, permitting, legal, technical, feedstock, off-take, financial, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, operations, and maintenance.
    • Negotiate and secure certain agreements for projects, including feedstock, off-take, land control, permits, easements, local / state / federal approvals, EPC, operations and maintenance, and financing.
    • Develop and maintain project proformas.
    • Participate in the definition and development of project design and engineering.
    • Participate in the management and oversite of project execution, startup, commissioning, and operation.
    • Develop and maintain an understanding of new and emerging markets for the monetization of project products and environmental attributes.
    • Obtain support from co-workers who will provide the expertise in project management, process engineering and construction about the various industries.
    • Travel domestically and internationally ranging from 55-65% annually.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
    • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in an office and controlled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 10 lbs. on a regular basis is required.

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
    • At least fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering, project development, and business development.
    • Strong technical and problem-solving skills are required.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision is required.
    • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent organization and planning skills.
    • Ability to effectively lean and acquire new knowledge and skills.
    • Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
    • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
    • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
