You have completed a BS in Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Engineering Physics. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, have worked in an engineering role for at least 0-2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
Positive and effective team interaction skills along with positive peer relationship skills
Strong conceptual and intuitive understanding of neutronics and reactor thermal-hydraulic basics like reactor theory, neutron cross sections, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
Proven ability to constructively work through conflict with other people
Experience working with engineering workstation computers and gthe LINUX operating environment plus basic capabilities with MICROSOFT Office (WORD, EXCEL, etc)

As an Early Career BWR Core Design Neutronics Engineer in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Come join a team with a passion for Nuclear Science and Engineering and its application to solve the nuclear power industry’s challenges of today and tomorrow. The Fuel Business Unit which is responsible for a broad range of activities including engineering computer code development and maintenance, topical report development and submittals, and core design and subsequent neutronic, thermal hydraulic, and safety analyses as well as online core monitoring systems. The engineering activities are coordinated with other Framatome fuel engineering departments both locally and worldwide. This opportunity is located in Richland, WA, part of the greater Tri-Cities metro area. Your work will include BWR core design and neutronics reload licensing activities and would be part of a greater team with overall responsibility for the cycle design and licensing and the fuel reload. This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

Richland is located in the Columbia River basin in southeastern Washington a few hours east of Seattle. After work, the Richland, Kennewick, Pasco Tri-cities area offers a variety of water sports and fabulous fishing. A short drive puts you in the beautiful Cascade Mountains. Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required.
Your Total Rewards Package
The range of base salary for the position is between $70,000 - $91,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
