    Ward North American, one of the largest moving and storage companies in the U.S. is hiring for a Claims Representative.

    Job Summary:

    The adjuster will be responsible for handling claims which may include government or commercial accounts, and consumer customers in an accurate and timely manner. They will be expected to speak with customers, agents, drivers, and accounts to investigate and resolve issues, as well as utilize the service of the repair firm network to provide inspection of the damages. The adjuster will assess the situation to determine liability by analyzing all of the shipping documents, contract agreements, Tender of Service, interline agreements, and Rules and Regulations before issuing or denying claim settlements.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    · Verification:

    Verify and investigate all aspects of the claim to ensure legal liability of the settlement is established, and accountable parties are identified and notified.

    Utilize all contract paperwork, contract agreements, repair firm assessments, hauler/agent/helper/account/customer communication in the assessment of liability and the investigation of the claim.

    · Negotiation:

    Determine the value of claimed items, repair options vs. cash-outs, and pre-existing damage vs. transit related damage. Review carrier liability and propose the settlement offer to the customer. Negotiate any disagreements in the initial offer and establish a final settlement. All settlements must be within legal carrier liability and meet the contract terms.

    Be able to properly identify and negotiate typical legal carrier liability and National Account expectations to ensure the client is satisfied with the final settlement presented to the customer.

    Communicate effectively with third party vendors to ensure liability is appropriately assessed.

    · Maintain Records:

    Keep accurate notes which may include conversations and justification for approvals/denials. Manage prioritizing claim significance from customer to customer to ensure settlement timelines that are in place are met for each account. Update each claims status to ensure that every claim is progressing towards settlement. Ensure all reimbursements are processed and closed out in a timely manner.

    · Repair Firms:

    Assign repair firms for inspections/repairs and review reports to ensure accurate settlements are issued. Process invoices in a timely manner. Direct repair firms in the direction of cash outs or repairs.

    · Projects:

    Build upon current claim procedures to help continue to build/improve upon new processes for the department.

    · Teamwork:

    Be able to provide support for their associates within the department to ensure that all claims are being handled as timely as possible.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    · Excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills a must.

    · PC experience required, including Word and Excel.

    · Must be organized and able to multi-task.

    · Must be comfortable talking over the phone directly to the customer and other agents or third party companies.

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    · High School Diploma required,

    · Minimum 1-3 years in Claims or Customer Service setting Preferred
