    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen’s Cash Applications Associate is an individual contributor work role that receives funds from customers and/or associates, disburses funds, and records monetary transactions in the appropriate business establishment or place of public accommodation.  They also resolve daily exception items that are not auto-applied within Vallen systems.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accurately and timely, apply payments to customer accounts received in the company Lockbox.
    • Resolve daily exception items not auto-applied with Vallen systems.
    • Apply ACH and wire payments received on the bank statement.
    • Build and upload daily payment application ASN.
    • Communicate unresolved customer remittance issues to the Credit and Collections Department.
    • Process returned check items and credit card chargebacks.
    • Balance daily application with deposits.
    • Assist the department in order to meet month-end close requirements.
    • Assist the department in researching and resolving month end reconciling items.
    • Work with department databases and portals following all standard operating procedures and processes.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Finance) or equivalent experience coupled with 0-2 years experience with working in cash applications, accounts receivable, or account reconciliations.  Other relevant experience should include:

    • Average Ten Key speed of 8,000 KPH or higher with demonstration of accuracy.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Must be highly detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
