As a Care Advocate you will make a difference in the lives of our patients. Care advocates collaborate with the treatment teams in ensuring quality care and advocate the need for treatment with insurance companies to secure authorization for treatment. You will represent Rogers and be the voice of the patient to ensure they are able to access needed treatment.
Care Advocates:
- Coordinate and Track Patient Care.
- Review active medical records to ensure medical necessity documentation requirements are met.
- Act as the liaison between RBH and third-party payers in advocating for authorization.
- Support process improvement initiatives within the UR department.
- Collaborate with other departments within Rogers to ensure quality care for the patient.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Behavioral Science is preferred.
- Previous work experience, office or hospital setting preferred.
- Knowledge of managed care, Medicaid and Medicare.
- Utilization review experience in a hospital, outpatient or managed care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of the DSM, ICD-10, medical, mental health and chemical dependency diagnosis and treatment.
- Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
Schedule:
- Able to be flexible with work assignments, including schedule changes, case load size, program additions and changes in policy and procedures.
- Monday through Friday, business hours.
- Weekend and Holiday hours may be required.
Location:
- Position is remote.
- The candidate must live in one the following states: WI, CA, GA, FL, MN, IL, CO, PA, TN, or WA
