    Rogers Behavioral Health, the area's leader in behavioral health services, is looking for a POOL Intake Specialist to join our Oconomowoc location on AM and PM shifts.

     

    Intake Specialists serve as patient advocates and allow access to life-changing care for members of the community. Intake Specialists work within a collaborative team including physicians, providers, other intake specialists and many other members of a multidisciplinary team.  Gain career experience to develop and progress with a nationally recognized behavioral health leader.

     

     

    Key responsibilities for this position will include (but are not limited to):

    • Navigate in-person and phone inquiries for services by describing levels of care, screening for services, and providing program recommendation
    • Explain insurance coverage to patients throughout admission process and answer related financial questions
    • Assist in coordination of admissions with patients and/or their representative to include admissions information, directions, and information about the program they will be entering
    • Educate patients and/or their representatives during the admissions process and related intake forms

     

     

     REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred in human services. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health care setting, HIM, admissions, or billing preferred.  Customer service experience required.
    • One full year in a previous Intake Specialist role.
    • Demonstrates the following qualities: reliable, dependable, and good customer service skills as evidenced by managing time efficiently, showing up to work on time, prepared, working independently without constant need of supervision, handling challenging callers with ease.
    • No disciplines in the past 12-month period.
    • Demonstrates ability to handle higher volume while still providing quality in work performed.
    • Performs customer service with difficult callers and helps navigate the situation without the help of lead or manager.
    • Working knowledge of managed care environment, procedures and criteria.
    • Knowledge of psychiatric clinical criteria.
    • Familiarity with managed care and reimbursement system process. Previous hospital utilization review experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical/psychiatric/chemical dependency diagnosis, treatment process, and Joint Commission medical record standards.
    • Formal Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is required within sixty (60) days of the date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
    • Interpreting: To be eligible for interpret services within the admissions department for the purposes of completing screenings and coordinating admissions. This is not a job requirement for the intake specialist position.
      • Must be fluent in source and target language.
      • Interpreter is only to function in the role as an intake specialist.
      • All Admitting policies and procedures apply.
      • Maintain certification as an interpreter for the specified language.
    • Valid driver license preferred, and must be granted insurable status by the Rogers Memorial Hospital insurance policy.
    • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen
    • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

     

     

    PREFERRED JOB SKILL KNOWLEDGE:

    • Hospitality and customer service experience
    • Experience and proficiency with various technology outlets, including computer, software programs and sophisticated phone system

     

     

    Department is staffed 24 hours / 7 days a week

    • Shift: Pool - minimum 1 shift/ week.  Potential for 2-5 shifts / week depending on department schedule needs.
    • AM and PM shift coverage, potential for NOC coverage
    • Weekend and holiday rotation is required
