    A Sales Development Representative focuses on outreach, prospecting, and the solicitation of new sales via low activity accounts. A Sales Development Representative is responsible for closing business and connecting with as many customer leads as possible. The SDR is responsible for providing customer support, education, and product availability to the customer. They will manage both the inbound and outbound related processes with a focus on engaging and qualifying all prospective sales opportunities.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Respond, engage, and qualify customer leads and inquiries
    • Engage current customers to expand awareness, educate, identify new sales opportunities, and develop account intelligence
    • Work closely with corporate teams to target sales, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct account engagement and strategic planning
    • Hold proactive and engaging conversations over the phone and email
    • Act as the customer service expert on product offerings and solutions
    • Assist in sales support tasks, including client research, meeting preparations and reports
    • Provide support in responding to customer RFQ’s (Request for Quote) by communicating Irby capabilities as they relate to customer requirements and determining competitive price levels.
    • Handles difficulties with customers, vendors and coworkers with diplomacy and seeks assistance when needed
    • Acquires, uses, and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and solicit sales
    • Determines, make, type and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold
    • Provides support with oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, sales reports, technical procedures, or project requirements
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and Irby corporate functions
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with varying situations where only limited information exists, or in low-activity accounts.
    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
