    WAREHOUSE SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 3 (PIT/FORKLIFT OPERATOR)

    OPPORTUNITY: We are a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Shelbyville, Illinois team. THIS JOB POSTING IS FOR A WAREHOUSE FORKLIFT OPERATOR.     JOB SUMMARY: Unload and deliver materials necessary for manufacturing; record and warehouse raw materials and in-process materials. Understand and align business operations through execution of the role, exceeding customer expectations and aligning with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

     

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
    • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner; Be actively engaged in safety programs.
    • Ensure production and distribution of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
    • Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), baler machines, and tape sealing machines.
    • Deliver raw or in-process materials to production areas.
    • Properly document transactions between production and warehouse.
    • Shuttle materials required for production needs from outside warehouse.
    • Store all materials in designated storage areas, properly documented and in accordance with designated storage patterns; Consolidate product in warehouse.
    • Unload, warehouse, and properly document inbound shipments.
    • Load and properly document outbound shipments.
    • Operate RF unit.
    • Once qualified, instruct and train other.
    • Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production and distribution requirements are met.
    • Assist in other areas or perform other duties, as assigned.

    Required Skills

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

    • Manufacturing experience, preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience.
    • 18 years or older.
    • Ability to successfully complete written and driving examination required to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator license.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
    • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

     

    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    • 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends off. 
    • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours; Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.; Visual acuity and depth perception necessary to operator PIT equipment, and read computer screen or other electronic devices; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels.
