This position drives and supports selling efforts to key customers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage key accounts portfolio by establishing strong, long term customer relationships, analyzing customer-specific situations and data, and leveraging product knowledge to generate solutions.
- Achieve assigned strategic account objectives including growth of revenue and margin. Monitor and assess sales performance metrics on assigned accounts.
- Communicate regularly and proactively with major customers and account managers in order to solicit orders, respond to questions and Requests for Quote (RFQ’s), convey Irby capabilities, and determine competitive price levels.
- Act as the liaison between key customers and internal stakeholders, including branch and District management, internal specialist teams, and outside salesforce.
- Exercise judgment within Irby practices and procedures to suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet customer needs.
- Handles difficulties with customers and vendors with diplomacy and seeks assistance when needed.
- Establish relationships with key vendors and purchasing teams to aid the securing of materials.
- Acquires, uses and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel.
- Utilizes expertise of company and/or customer pricing and order entry systems to provide quotations, terms, and delivery arrangements for materials.
- May work for extended periods of time on customer sites setting up inventory and/or assisting with emergency relief, such as severe storm response or prolonged power outages.
- Practices good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant telephone etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
- Above average personal computing skills, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to perform math functions representative of the job such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and metric scales; computing rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs; calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information or standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to obtain a Motor Vehicle Driver’s License and maintain a safe driving record.
