  • Responsibilities

    The PRN ER RN provides direct patient care in the emergency department setting at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to triage patients safely, rapidly and accurately. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient status, symptoms, and results of diagnostic and laboratory studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Serves as Team Lead for Rapid Response Team.

    Required Skills

    Required skills and education include:

    • Graduate of professional school of nursing. BSN highly preferred.
    • Current Texas RN License
    • BCLS required, and must get ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire date.
    • Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, Emergency Preparedness and JCAHO rules & regulations.
    • Ability to make independent sound nursing and management decisions.
    • Liaison between staff and administration as needed
    • Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.

    Required Experience

    Required experience includes:

     

    • Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in Intensive Care nursing or Emergency Department nursing.
  • Qualifications
