Strategic development – understand customers and their requirements, and assists in developing technology roadmaps with a “customer first” focus to meet and anticipate future needs
Technology lifecycle management – design, implementation and upgrades for all VMWare and VMWare View software pieces. Identify emerging technologies and features, pilot them in a structured fashion to identify applicability to company user needs, introduces, manages and governs as a service, and migrates/retires as appropriate
Team Oriented – work on a team with fellow engineers to deliver solutions
Communication – develop and deliver communications at all levels as necessary to advance the development and adoption of the services
Process development – Participates in the development and implementation of VMWare and VDI-related operational procedures and defines the standards for virtual desktops from the infrastructure platform design to imaging and delivery to customers throughout the business
Technical support – Assist with analysis, administration and support of thin clients, virtual and physical desktops and work the operational support teams to transition standards and processes and act as an escalation point for complex technical problems/issues
Assists in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures
Requirements:
VMWARE HORIZON VIEW Enterprise 7.x
Must have and be able to demonstrate experience engineering VDI solutions in a large environment – 5+ years experience
Must have skills in maintaining and sustaining VDI operations environment in a large environment – 5+ years experience
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
Must have root cause analysis mindset and a willingness to solve business as well as technical problems
Must have VMware App Volumes (engineering, delivery, and management)
Must have VDI UEM/persona management experience and implementation
Must have Virtual Desktop Administration using VMware View
Must have VMWare View Security Server experience
Must have AD/GPO, DNS, DHCP experience
Must have Windows Desktop Administration Skills - Microsoft Windows 7 or greater – 3+ years’ experience required
Must have VDI Just-n-Time Desktop Provisioning using VMware Instant Clone
Familiar with Windows Optimization for desktop images
Familiar with thin client desktop hardware and connectivity
Familiar with persona management
VMWARE ENTERPRISE
Must have experiencing in capacity management
Must be able to produce metrics and make informed decisions
Must have experience in VMWare ESXi/vCenter management 4+ years
Must have experience with Distributed switches
Must have experience with VMWare product patching and upgrades (lifecycle management)
Must be able to setup HA/DRS/Fault Tolerance
Must have VROP experience
Infrastructure engineering and management experience using VMware vSphere 5.5 or greater
