    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for processing all release of information requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. The Medical Records/ROI Associate will perform the day to day duties as assigned by Supervisor. Supports and contributes to the mission, vision, and value of the company.

    QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:

    Education High school diploma or GED Experience Minimum of two years in a medical office setting. HIM experience is a plus. Skills Excellent communication skills, must able to multitask, demonstrate a working knowledge of Windows and Adobe based software, and must possess efficient time management skills.

    JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Privacy - Safeguard and protect patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations. Accuracy - Reviews accuracy of documentation and ensures documents reflect the details specified by the requestor. EHR - Locates patient information using EHR and various other computer systems to send and invoice requested copies of health information. Enters all releases into software tracking system. Communication - Provides excellent services to co-workers, patients, and attorney offices. Responds to email and phone calls within 1-2 business days. Maintains a positive and professional manner at all times. Other - Various other duties assigned by Supervisor including, but not limited to, answering incoming phone calls, locating medical records in offsite storage, scanning patient records, etc.

    • Positive can do attitude. Able to follow instruction.  Critical thinking skills, with ability to problem solve independently and work well in a patient care team environment.
    • Organize and incorporate multiple tasks and skills with a high level of accuracy and efficiency with minimal assistance and within designated working hours.
    • Satisfactory written and verbal communication skills. Conversant in English and able to accurately document patient information.  Detail-oriented, accurate documentation skills.
    • Tailors communication style to meet the needs of the population served (infant through geriatric).
    • Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, clinically astute.
    • Able to identify opportunities to provide outstanding patient experience through teamwork, communication, coordination and a constant awareness of patient and family centered care.
