  • Responsibilities

    Supports Productions operations by operating case erector equipment and creating secondary packaging.    This position also requires the use of case forming equipment to form, tape and deliver secondary packaging to the glue lines as needed.    Occasional need for manual case erection may be required.   Operator utilizes assigned equipment and materials as required to complete assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner and ensuring that production and quality levels meet established standards.

    Required Skills

    1. Observes company safety rules and complies with safety practices.
    2. Build cases and secondary packaging based production demands using assigned equipment.
    3. Troubleshoot and escalate issues as they occur
    4. Research and update files, dies and material as needed
    5. Operates assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner and is responsible for shift production.
    6. Has good working knowledge of computer-controlled equipment.
    7. Notifies management of potential problems and offers solutions to same.
    8. Displays work habits that set example for peers.
    9. Trains new employees in proper operating procedure.
    10. Performs general housekeeping functions in assigned areas.
    11. Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of AIB/5S and other company standards.
    12. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
    13. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
    14. Performs all other duties as assigned.
    15. Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
    16. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements.
    17. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

     

     

    • High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred
    • Proficiency in machine plant operation through continuous training and development

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    Frequent/strenuous physical effort (e.g., lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.  Conditions frequently involve noise, fumes, and hazardous chemicals.

    Graphic Packaging International is on a 7-day continuous operation.  Must be able to work overtime as required.
