    Under close supervision, performs duties at a beginning working level in the analysis of the highway transportation system for existing and future needs.  Make recommendations and communicate problem solving solutions to management.

    GDOT DIV of Planning - Planner 1 State Transportation Planning is a rewarding career that can provide a person an opportunity to make positive impacts to the public on issues that touches all lives each and every day. Interested applicants would need to meet the criteria below:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields: transportation planning, rural/urban planning, regional planning, urban studies, policy studies, geography, statistics, economics or closely related field • OR a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Civil Engineering with course work experience (or a minor) in any of the aforementioned planning fields. (If selected for the position, the candidate is required to provide an original college transcript showing the required coursework --minor).
