    In this position, you will conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor closed circuit televisions and alarm systems, compose reports, and deter criminal activity and misconduct. You will also perform other duties as specified in post orders.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • ·Controls access to client facility; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility; screens visitors, clients and employees in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the facility.
    • ·Communicates in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations; to the extent authorized, provides information regarding the facility and surrounding areas as requested by visitors.
    • ·Monitors entrances and exits; prevents unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates a gate and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; operates remote access devices; in a calm manner, directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property.
    • ·Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; inspects buildings and grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
    • ·Prepares logs or reports as required for post; writes reports using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required.
    • ·Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to security/company management as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the post.
    • ·Responds to emergencies in an orderly manner utilizing proper training and following all SOPs.
    • ·Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned post.

     

     

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Ability to interact cordially and communicate professionally with the public and employees, contractors and contract labor
    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
    • Ability to identify critical issues quickly, accurately and immediately communicate them upward

    EDUCATION /REQUIREMENT

    • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
    • Must be able to pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
    • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of security experience

  • Qualifications

    Possess a proficient level of computer, verbal/written communications, and ability to prioritize is required. Able to effectively read, write, and speak English fluently. Able-bodied to transport medications throughout all patient care areas on a recurrent and periodic schedule.
