    The Finance Analyst, in addition to performing general accounting functions such as preparation of journal entries, account analysis and inventory and other balance sheet reconciliations, will also be tasked to provide insight into financial performance of the business, and report on any variances from expectation regarding budgets, cost of goods, and forecasts. The role will be a critical partner to the business and will have close contact and significant communications with the Newport production team.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accuracy is critical, responsible to maintain accurate data throughout the business to ensure accurate information and analysis is provided to business partner.
    • Familiarity with PO processing, BOLs and packing slips.
    • AP entry of production related invoices.
    • Monthly inventory reconciliation, and a strong understanding of physical inventory process.
    • Provide insight into financial performance of the brewery/distillery. Report to business partners and direct manager on any variances
    • Develop, prepare, and analyze financial management reports. Support and build financial reports/information identified by business partners—strong spreadsheet skills necessary.
    • Margin analysis and costing integrity.
    • Identify weaknesses in current processes and data flow and propose new options for improvement of standard procedures and processes with the goal of providing accurate and timely information.
    • Capability to relate financial concepts to nonfinance employees. Strong written and qualitative ability to provide insights to business leaders.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    Associates Degree in Accounting

    EXPERIENCE:

    3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis. High volume manufacturing inventory management experience a plus. Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Microsoft NAV and/or Vicinity a plus.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    Great organizational skills and attention to detail, proficient with excel & pivot tables, communication in person and via email/phone. Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset. Self-starter that can learn quickly and take ownership of role.

    Open office environment, our finance office is located on the second floor above the brewery. Desks are distanced at least 6ft to ensure safety during the ongoing pandemic. Minimal to sometimes moderate noise from the brewery equipment and forklifts can be heard within our office space.

    TRAVEL

    This position will travel twice a month to the production facility in Newport, OR.
