    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen’s Program Manager of Accounts Implementation is a staff management position with responsibility for managing multiple account implementation Project Managers while also performing project management themselves over variety of company activities relating to the implementation of Systems Contracts, storeroom management, Vending, VMI and Ship and Bill business.  

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform staff management duties for assigned team of Project Managers; management responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing, selecting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates while enforcing company policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
    • Manage staff workload and delegate implementation assignments.
    • Address escalated issues from Project Managers and/or the customer; provide mentorship and guidance for issue resolution.
    • Perform project management duties and oversee assigned account implementations; participate in and deliver Lean projects that raise quality and increase speed for the Vallen implementation process.
    • Research, identify, and implement new LEAN best practices for Project Managers leading account implementations.
    • Responsible for continuous improvement for delivery of stated implementation objectives.
    • Serve as a member of the larger team of National Accounts who analyze, develop, and implement systems contract accounts.
    • Conduct and coordinate activities for new site assessments.
    • Prepare kick-off documentation and/or review the documentation prepared by other Project Manager.
    • Assist with development and presentation of proposals to prospective new systems accounts for Vallen implementation; assess current state and prepare proposed timelines, scope of work documents, etc.; may review and approve the work of Project Managers related to proposal preparation.
    • Upon business award, plan, develop and manage to implementation timelines using project management software.
    • Assist with defining customer specifics and SOPs as it pertains to the designated customer and servicing site.
    • Identify, plan and coordinate activities and/or teams required for the implementation of local system accounts.
    • Prepare and present customer process flow-charting and analysis.
    • Coordinate activities for customer catalog set up and ensure its integrity.
    • Develop, deliver and/or coordinate communications with the Vallen project team and customer.
    • Collaborate with the National Accounts team to develop enhanced customer inventory analysis methods, templates, and presentations.
    • Collaborate with the National Accounts team to determine future customer expectations and develop tools, processes, and programs as may be required to assure Vallen is a World Class provider of systems selling solutions.
    • Assist with training region and site personnel.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years applicable experience.  Applicable experience should include:

    • Performing Project Management duties for account implementations
    • Working for a distributor of MRO products in sales, operations or purchasing
    • Working in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably in the storeroom or tool crib
    • Working in a purchasing/inventory management position in an industrial environment replenishing stock materials
    • Project Management knowledge; experience using Smartsheet preferred
    • 6 Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
    • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO Standards
    • Demonstrated knowledge of QS9000 Quality Standards
    • General knowledge of SAS, Excel, databases, Word, Power Point, and MS Project
    • Solid organizational skills and strong customer service orientation
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    STAFF MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department where the majority of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work and eliminating ordinary difficulties. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.
