    Summary:

    The Content Marketing Coordinator is a pivotal role within our marketing team that involves close collaboration with the PR Manager and other leadership members. The responsibilities encompass the development of social media content as a crucial part of an integrated marketing campaign. In the domain of Content/Social Media, this position manages our organic social media presence, conceptualizes content, improves fan engagement, and monitors performance and industry trends. The Content Marketing Coordinator will also be responsible for updating event calendars and providing blog content support.     What you’ll do:


    Responsibilities:

    65% Content/Social Media

    20% Digital Asset Management

    15% Other Duties

    Content/Social Media:

    • Oversee day-to-day management of organic social media and content calendar using Sprout Social, including posting all content across numerous social channels and developing content concepts from idea to completion.
    • Maximize consumer engagement on social media, including timely comment and direct message moderation/responses.
    • Work with the marketing team, animal care, and frontline staff to brainstorm and develop content ideas.
    • Stay up-to-date on new social media trends, tools, techniques, and best practices; monitor competitors and other industry leaders.
    • Monitor and report on social media KPIs continuously, using that data to inform large and small pivots to improve performance.
    • Collaborate with other zoos, aquariums, and museums when appropriate.
    • Work with the Director of Admissions Revenue & Marketing, and PR Manager to ensure content is informative, appealing, and on brand.
    • Suggest recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.

    Digital Asset Management:

    • Responsible for curating, organizing, and managing digital assets, including images, videos, testimonials, reviews, etc.
    • Design creative for social media posts and onsite signage using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
    • Work with internal teams to schedule photo and video shoots for upcoming social media and blog posts.
    • Good creative eye; minor editing of photography and video.

    Misc:

    • Help author and edit content for AAQ’s web, email, and blog.
    • Assist PR Manager with media inquiries, visits, mailers, and management of guest bloggers/influencers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    What you’ll bring:

    • BA in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field or equivalent work experience
    • Two or more years of social media/content marketing experience, including planning and managing content in a corporate or agency setting, required
    • Background in biology or animal husbandry fields, preferred but not required
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Experience using various analytics software
    • Professional experience managing Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok and other social media best practices
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal teams as well as external stakeholders and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
    • Flexible—ability to pivot quickly during a crisis, directional change, or to jump on a trend
    • Capable of working independently, yet collaboratively, within a fast-paced environment
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask while maintaining a clear and proactive flow of communication and ownership of tasks
    • Professional, responsible, and enthusiastic attitude
    • Experience using Sprout Social, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of photo and video editing and graphic design, strongly preferred
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
