    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    The Mill division of Graphic Packaging International operates 15 paper machines in eight paper mills, producing 4MM tons/year across three substrates.  Our board is used for folding cartons, hot cups, cold cups, paper plates, aseptic packaging, and many other applications.  It is a predominantly make-order business with domestic and export sales to both internal and external customers.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    The Mill Supply Chain Demand/Master Planner leads the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) activities for the Mill division.  This includes working closely with the sales team to develop sales forecasts for all three substrates (SUS, CRB, and SBS).  Currently, this role also works with operations to create the initial SBS production plan by assigning the sales forecast to the four SBS machines and three extruders.  In the future, the position’s responsibilities will include creating the initial supply plans for SUS and CRB as well.  Responsibilities of this position also include highlighting supply/demand imbalances, leading the process to address them (e.g. constraining demand), and maintaining the allocation system in SAP.

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in pulp and/or pulp manufacturing
    • Experience with SAP.
    • Excellent analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel.
    • Strong communication skills, including proficiency with PowerPoint.
    • Ability to master quantitative details but not get mired down in them when presenting.
    • General understanding of supply chain concepts and manufacturing operations & equipment.
    • Experience with advanced planning software (e.g. Kinaxis) preferred.

     

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Four-year degree preferred or; 10 years of compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
    • Ability to work safely in the manufacturing environment, including working with industrial chemicals and manufacturing machines.
