     JOB SUMMARY 

    IIOT Network Service Engineer is a technical resource for the assessment and delivery of Industrial Network services and solutions enabling customers to appropriately leverage the ‘Industrial Internet of Things’ (IIOT) and fully realize the connected enterprise bridging both Informational and Operational technologies within the manufacturing technology ecosystems. Their focus will be assisting Irby Electrical Distributions’ industrial customer base with managing the challenges of maintaining the integrity of current Operational and Informational technology platforms while constantly addressing modernization pressures that affect their systems and performance. The IIOT NSE will work directly with Irby’s Regional Service and Solutions team to deliver network assessments, designs, implementations specific to industrial Networks, Automation, Cyber Security & Virtualization solutions within the Industrial Segment.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the delivery of Industrial Network services to enable customers to realize the connected Enterprise by building a robust, reliable network to support their operations.
    • Works directly with customers to deliver Assessments and Designs specific to industrial networks, cybersecurity, and virtualization solutions.
    • Perform 'hands-on' network and cybersecurity assessments
    • Conduct internal and customer readouts to communicate current network/security health and identify prioritized recommendations to deliver a more secure network infrastructure
    • Perform machine-level OEM and small to mid-End User plant-level Network Designs to provide the network details necessary to procure, install, and configure a network
    • Perform configuration of small to medium-sized virtualization solutions (i.e. Versa Virtual Installation – Rockwell Industrial Data Center)
    • Install Rockwell Software, virtual appliances, and thin clients
    • Provide Technical Sales support specific to industrial network and cybersecurity services
    • Conduct technical education webinars and training sessions for internal sales support and customer awareness
    • Work with sales and consultants to provide detailed documentation around user needs, system specifications, and observed issues to develop or modify network and/or control system 
    • Act as the liaison between customer’s Information Technology (IT) department and Manufacturing/Operations (OT) departments.
    • Present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization to gain buy-in around both the concepts and the value of acting on design/remediation plans.
    • Required to prepare recommendations and supporting details of formal project proposals for network connectivity and configurations
    • Interaction with internal and external teams to understand network requirements and prepare network changes for implementation
    • Regular interaction with telecom providers, equipment suppliers, system integrators and third-party network vendors, to engage their technical resources to perform tasks
    • The role requires on-call support as well as scheduling and attendance for maintenance windows
    • Accountable for facilitating all Task level issues and escalations
    • Passion for learning and staying updated on emerging trends and technologies
    • Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), along with the ability to be intuitive and resourceful

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology; related technology driven degree.
    • In lieu of a degree will accept Associates of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology with equivalence in applicable experience (five to eight years)
    • 5 years’ experience in project implementation, system integration, troubleshooting (Drives, PLC’s, Machine Level Network Communications, Industrial controls, and integrated, industrial automation segments of technology).
    • 2+ years of experience with Ethernet and IP networking
    • 2+ years in Industrial Networking related experience
    • 2+ years working with AC/DC Variable Frequency/Speed Drives
    • Levels of certification in CISCO and/or other qualifications in Cyber Security
    • Experience with PLC, Networking and SCADA design/programming.
    • Industrial network protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and Profinet).
    • Embedded operating systems (Windows, Linux and Unix).
    • Familiarity with configuration and troubleshooting of network infrastructure equipment (L2/L3 Switches, Routers and Firewalls).
    • Remote access tools and services.
    • IT equipment and software configuration skills {Cisco IOS (CLI), VMware, Windows Server, ThinManager, etc.}
    • Windows terminal services.
    • Converged Plantwide Ethernet (CPwE) Design Guide Understanding
    • Understanding of ISA, ANNSI, NEMA, NEC and NIST standards
    • Strong understanding of the OSI Interconnect model and how it relates to the design and deployment of structured IP network .
    • Experience writing detailed documentation.
    • Hardware Familiarity with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradly products including PowerFlex Drives Architecture (Including Compact), PLC’s, Panelview/HMI, Sensors & Switches, IIoT suite of components, Motion (Motor Control Centers); & Motion Control (Servo Applications).
    • Software Familiarity with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradly Products including ControlLotix, RSNetworks, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, FactoryTalk AssectCentre, RS View 32, RSLogix (5, 500, 5000,) FactoryTalk Studio 5000, Citect SCCADA, and Connected Components Workbench.
    • Experience with safe work practices in an industrial environment including personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Recognized IT Certifications (CINS, CCNA Industrial, CCNA R&S, CCDA, Network+, Security+, A+, MCSA)
    • Plant PAX/DCS Experience
    • Exposure to ABB, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Omron Controls
    • Certifications with Rockwell & Cisco is a Plus.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing-LPN is acceptable
    • Current Kansas Nursing License
    • Current BLS, ACLS
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU
    • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for adult patients
    • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Excellent teaching skills
