    Summary: Skilled work with varying level of difficulty and responsibility in the maintenance and repair of rides and attractions, construction projects, park maintenance, and production and service equipment. Duties may concentrate within one particular area of skill trade, however a variety of maintenance skills are necessary based on the diversity of park needs, and seasonal needs. Duties are performed under the supervision of a higher level M&C Craftsman or Supervisor.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Working knowledge of industry standards, methods, practices, procedures, tools and material which would be used in the maintenance and repair of rides and attractions and/or similar mechanical operations
    • Working knowledge of OSHA and safety procedures used in maintenance activities
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical specifications
    • Ability to complete assigned work correctly, safely, and in a timely manner
    • Ability of work independently, as well as cooperatively with all maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership
    • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment
    • Ability of perform tasks in one or more skilled trade areas depending on assignment including but not limited to:
      • Pneumatics
      • Hydraulics
      • Motors
      • Conveyors
      • Control Systems
      • Component Parts
    • Ability to inspect maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems and determine the best feasible way to correct them
    • Ability to dismantle devices and control instruments in order to repair or replace defective parts efficiently
    • Ability to operate appropriate testing equipment in order to test the performance of equipment and defective parts
    • Skilled in performing technical inspections, routine preventive and scheduled maintenance
    • Other duties that may be assigned

    Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, circumferences, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills: Basic computer operation/navigation skills preferred.

    Required Experience

    Education/Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or technical training in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Continuing education and training by becoming certified in one or more specific skills as determined by leadership.

    Certificates and Licenses: Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent. OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour course completion preferred. Current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates desired.
