THIS IS A FULL TIME SEASONAL POSITION FROM MARCH THROUGH DECEMBER EACH YEAR.

SUMMARY:  As a cook for Silver Dollar City, you may do a number of duties to include, but not limited to, cooking to order, plating entrées, and ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen. Prepping and cooking for our restaurants.  Our cooks work together in a small area to complete each task. Each applicant must be comfortable working in small areas and demonstrate a friendly, caring attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• Must wear mask if not fully vaccinated per CDC guidlines.
• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food from supplier or procures food from storage
• Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare salads, sauces and desserts
• Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, vegetables and other foods
• Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking
• Observes and tests foods being cooked to order or in batch cooking
• Portions food on serving plates, adds gravies and sauces, and garnishes servings to fill orders

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

Must be able to successfully obtain Safe Serve Certificate after provided training.

Required Experience

Six months to one year required experience as a cook (cook to order, batch cooking). 

MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE
