Medical Park Tower is a busy, multi-specialty surgery center located in the heart of Austin, Texas. We have 5 ORs and perform a broad range of outpatient surgical procedures including orthopedics, podiatry, urology, pain management, ophthalmology, and general surgery.     Responsibilities for this role include but not limited to: Assist nurses with the care of patients, Prepare staff schedule, Assign available staff to specific patients, Coach and mentor nurses, Ensure adequate supplies are on hand, Handle all employee conflicts or concerns, Assist Clinical Director with annual evaluations, Coordinate daily administrative duties and Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

     

     

     

    Qualifications for this role include professional experience with management and staff supervision, including working with a team. The PreOp/PACU Charge Nurse should have great communication skills and be open to working flexible hours. Additionally, they need to possess great organizational and program development skills, as well as experience in basic computer software such as the Microsoft Office suite. This person is expected to act in accordance with the vision, mission and business of the Center.

     

    Required Skills

    Further qualifications: Graduate of a professional school of Nursing. Current license as a TX Registered Nurse. Current certification in BLS, PALS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. At least five years of PreOp/PACU care experience. At least two years supervisory experience in the outpatient surgery area. Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
