    JOB DESCRIPTION

    USPI is looking for a Director of ASC Revenue Cycle. The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for all Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) functions in support of the Ambulatory Surgical Centers mission, vision and facility goals. The Director develops an environment and culture that embraces continuous improvement and innovation to ensure USPI achieves best practice in all areas of the revenue cycle. Ensures the RCM department maximizes the collectability of the services performed. Ensures that policies and practices support operational quality, efficiency and compliance. Coordinates with other functional areas that impact or support Revenue Cycle to ensure appropriate collaboration and system wide efficiency of operations. Provides oversight and leadership development for direct reports. 

    DUTIES PRIMARILY INCLUDE:

    • Interface with other Directors and Senior Leadership of ASC RCM, External and internal partners, USPI departments and staff
    • Supervises: Managers of Billing, Payments, Collections, and ICC
    • Serves as the Project Lead for vendor relationships to improve reimbursement, productions and processes.
    • Ensures all Manager and Supervisors are trained and meeting expectations of their roles.
    • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, payment posting, ICC, and collection activity for all surgery center patient accounts.
    • Works with facility clients and Regional Managed Care departments to provide responses to inquiries as needed.
    • Coordinates internal and external audits related to Revenue Cycle functions.
    • Maintains days in AR, cash/net revenue, A/R aging and credit balances to meet established goals.
    • Responsible for management of facility cash including daily cash balance reporting, cash collections, payment posting, daily deposits and cash disbursements.
    • Assist management in identifying areas of opportunity to ensure achievement of established financial and operational objectives.
    • Oversee all personnel responsible for billing, collections.
    • Other duties, commensurate with experience, as a member of the ASC Revenue Cycle Team.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS:                                                                

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred: or equivalent management background experience

    • 8 years of previous RCM management experience in a healthcare related industry with Ambulatory Surgical Center or Outpatient hospital experience preferred

    • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codes preferred

    • Expert level experience with Microsoft Office Products- ability to create and build spreadsheets and reports in Excel

    • Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving ASC growth.

    • Maintain current knowledge and adhere to appropriate regulatory standards such as Medicare.

    • Ability to analyze data and develop systems to accurately control financial activity within a surgical center setting.

    • Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Project management and operational implementation skills are a must.
