  • Responsibilities

    The Neuro ICU RN has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the neuro intensive care patients at Baylor Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.  He/She ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care. This position may also be assigned to respond to patients presenting to the facility Emergency Department and support RRT and/or Code Blue Team.

    Required skills of the Neuro ICU RN include:

    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Good organization habits
    • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
    • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit
    • Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation

    Required Experience

    Required education and experience of the Neuro ICU RN include:

    • Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing, BSN preferred
    • Minimum 3 years clinical experience as an RN in ICU unit, preferably Neuro MICU/SICU experience.
    • Current Texas RN License,
    • Current CPR, BCLS, ACLS and PALS required.
