    The Laboratory Assistant performs specimen procurement, accessioning, processing and testing as assigned under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS). Provides phlebotomy (venipuncture and skin puncture) to inpatients and outpatients.

    Required Skills

    • Phlebotomy or skin puncture techniques on patients ranging from infancy through adult
    • Written and verbal communication
    • Basic organizational skills
    • Basic computer skills

    Required Experience

    • Experience with operating some laboratory equipment and setting up cultures preferred
    • Must have a current phlebotomy certification
    • Experience with computer data entry preferred
    • Valid BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required
