At the Lakota People's Law Project, we use cutting edge digital media and advocacy to win justice for the Lakota people. We seek a Social Media Coordinator to take a lead role in building our global community. As the flagship program of the Romero Institute — a nonprofit law and policy center with a social justice legacy stretching back over 40 years — we work closely with Native American governments and leaders to end pipelines, safeguard Native families, and protect tribal health and sovereignty.

As our Social Media Coordinator, you'll be the frontline, online voice for our program, and you'll help lead our digital grassroots strategy. You'll relish expanding our movement by driving our supporters to action, and you'll be excited to push the boundaries of what's possible in the social justice advocacy space. The ideal candidate must love to inspire diverse audiences, design creative multimedia content, and grow our netroots-based fundraising.

Interacting regularly with nearly 400,000 followers, you will improve our presence on our most prominent platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube — but you won't stop there. You'll also create companion blogs and provide insight for expansion to other platforms. Working seamlessly with our communications and development teams, you'll execute a strategic vision to engage people all over the world on Lakota justice issues.

You'll work remotely in a full-time role and report to our Lakota People's Law Project Program Director. The salary range is $48,000-$70,000 based on qualifications, geography, and experience. We provide a robust benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life coverage and paid time off. As an organization dedicated to equity, we embrace diversity and take equal opportunity seriously. We're committed to building a team that reflects a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. We strongly encourage applicants from all walks of life.
