Job Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
- The Logistics and Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational management of all logistics and transport operations domestically and shipping internationally.
- The primary focus of this position is to ensure the continuity of the supply chain by collaborating cross-functionally and Globally to manage all supply chain flows both domestically and internationally with high standards of efficiency, quality and service to internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Develop continuous improvement activities for both domestic and international supply chain operations resulting in low cost, high quality, and valued services to our customers.
- Support, participate, and deliver major global and regional projects Develop, Implement and monitor performance to budgets and other key KPI’s.
- Ensure cascading and implementation of Global standards and policies for Logistic and Transport to meet requirements supporting short and long term business needs.
- Manage vendor performance to ensure an uninterrupted supply at optimum cost.
- Manage logistic activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and storage of incoming and outgoing materials and distribution of products.
- Ensure connection between sales, purchasing, production control, traffic, and warehousing to support all manufacturing operations and cost optimization.
- Manage, motivate, and assess performance of a small team of professionals
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Must be able to work independently and with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and develop preventive actions.
- Must have effective written and oral communication skills pursuant to effective customer service.
- Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment while adhering to company policies.
- Must have critical thinking ability and strong analytical skills.
- Must be well-organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. CICS/SAP experience; preferred.
EDUCATION
- BS in Supply Chain Management, Business or similar vocation; MBA preferred. Relevant experience in a related field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 5+ years’ experience managing logistics and transport operations both domestically and internationally 10+ years managing and leading teams 5+ years managing and accountability to a budget Strong organizational ability.
- Ability to manage multiple facilities and projects, concurrently.
- Strong project management and problem solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extensive Logistics and Transport industry knowledge and methodologies in all land, rail, and overseas areas
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- This position is responsible for the direct supervision of Logistics, Transport and packaging teams
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a hybrid remote environment.
- Require to be in the professional office environment 2-3 days per week.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms.
- Occasional reaching overhead.
- Occasional twist of head and/or back.
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full-time Hybrid position; in office 2-3 days per week
- Close to Keokuk
- Normal hours: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.

- Travel is up to 20% of the time
