    Roto is searching for a dynamic and experienced Engineering leader to join our team. Roto is of a firm of interdisciplinary exhibit designers who plan, design and co-create custom interactive exhibits, play spaces and immersive experiences for museums, science centers, children’s museums, zoos, aquariums, and similar destinations. Together we are making a difference in the lives of small and large communities, using our talents to build genuine human connections through environmental design, immersive media, interactive games, and unforgettable storytelling.     Demonstrates a never-ending curiosity and drive to research and develop new and emerging standards, devices, and equipment in microcontrollers, LED lighting, solid state media, A/V systems, and general mechatronics.

    Working understanding of A/V and hardware integration processes, with the ability to gauge and guide productivity.

    Application of best practices which result in simple and enduring solutions to sometimes complex technical problems.

    Experience producing high-quality, clever and cost-effective electromechanical and software/media devices and solutions.

    High quality customer service skills (both external and internal).

    Efficient, problem-solving mindset with the understanding our work must be maintainable, durable, and reliable under conditions of heavy public use.

    Thriving in an environment driven by constant change taking place at an accelerated pace where multi-tasking and managing competing priorities is a natural part of the business environment.

    Familiarity with applications and techniques in electromechanical engineering or related fields (e.g. robotics, mechatronics) for the purpose of guiding teams of developers and builders.

    Familiarity with Arduino & Raspberry Pi Microprocessors, PLC’s, Show Controllers, Motor Controllers, RFID, Audio-Visual Equipment, Touchscreens, Media Players, Industrial Sensors, and Lighting Systems, to name a few.

    · Overview of Responsibilities:

    Direct experience in an Engineering leadership capacity with demonstrated ability to ensure productivity, a commitment to innovation, and challenging the team to consistently produce quality outcomes.

    Develop the next generation of leaders in the Engineering department to help sustain the trajectory of the business with the capacity to explore new areas of growth.

    Lead and develop our most challenging initiatives through the entire technical design and production lifecycle, including solution design, parts ordering, prototyping, assembly, quality control, shipping, installation, and warranty support.

    Oversee and manage 3rd party vendors and contractors to accomplish tasks outside of personal expertise or for jobs beyond the capacity of the team assigned.

    Be actively engaged in the constant evolution of technology and new developments related to the field.

    Deploy tools that can actively manage, track, and report on the many projects to offer transparency on status and progress to internal stakeholders.

    Engage with management to implement and refine systems for coordinating project outcomes.
