  • Responsibilities

    Roto is seeking a Junior Technical Artist to assist in the creation of rich, high end experiences across an array of platforms and installations. This unique opportunity will see you embracing cutting edge technology to bring immersive experiences to museums, science centers, zoos and beyond. Our applications are primarily built using Unity and Unreal and feature a variety of technologies including touch displays, gesture recognition, AR, VR, environmental sensors, and much more. You will be part of a growing team focused on creating dazzling experiences, pushing interactive boundaries to enhance exhibits and delight audiences across the globe.

    Applicants must provide visual representations of their work with resume submission (a portfolio or reel), demonstrating projects they've participated in previously. Commercial and student work are acceptable.

    Daily Functions:

    Work with senior artists and developers to create bold interactive experiences

    Create and modify off the shelf 3D Assets

    Contribute to front end and basic UI design as needed

    Implement style frame elements under the direction of a Senior Artist

    Participate in reviews and brainstorm sessions prepared to provide insight and feedback

    Participate in sprint planning and daily standups

    Requirements:

    Passion for learning new technical + creative skills

    Intermediate knowledge of 3D Software (Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender etc)

    General experience with UV mapping and material creation

    Basic understanding of rigging and animation

    Entry level rendering experience (Realtime or Traditional)

    Entry level knowledge of Unity or Unreal

    Ideal Candidate will possess:

    High attention to detail with an eye for elegant design

    Familiarity using repository systems (Git / Plastic / Perforce)

    Experience using particle systems and real-time simulation engines (Unity VFX Graph / Unreal Niagara)

    Time management skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks to deliver and meet goals on deadline

    Ability to work in team-based environment, to include, but not limited to: taking direction from peers, project leads, or management, giving honest feedback to others on their work, and accepting feedback and critiques on their own work.

    Commitment to helping the team achieve awesome outcomes by adding value as needed

    Excellent problem-solving skills

    Disciplined work ethic, highly motivated, great attitude and energy, with aspirations for career growth
