Position Description
The role of Senior Designer/Exhibition Detail Designer is to realize and bring to life concept and schematic designs for museum and entertainment brands. The position is a unique problem-solving role which weaves together the products of schematic design, in-phase prototyping, electromechanical integration, ergonomic and user-centered design development, as well as all facility integration needs specific to the project.
This role must take all aspects of the design into consideration while remaining concentrated on aesthetic construction details and finishes. The material pallet often ranges from woods, metals and plastics, and focus on elements as small as a tiny button interface, all the way up to a 2-story kinetic ball machine. The outcome from the detail phase is generally a control model and/or a set of drawings that become the repository of all design knowledge for that particular project. This is done in collaboration with other designers, engineers, fabrication specialists, developers and project managers.
