    Job Description

    Roto-Rooter is seeking an experienced HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST. This is a mid-level position that will be responsible for providing human resources support including but not limited to company policies, recruiting, onboarding, providing employment law expertise, and solving employee relations problems. (e.g., investigations, mediations, progressive discipline, etc.)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Responsible for providing Human Resources support to employees, management and senior leaders.
    • Provide employment law expertise.
    • Advise managers on policies like equal employment opportunity and harassment laws.
    • Facilitate and seek to resolve employee relations such as investigations, mediations, progressive discipline, terminations, etc.
    • Maintain all employee personnel and benefit records.
    • Develop and oversee formal disciplinary procedure.
    • Develop employee evaluation process to inform merit increases and bonuses.
    • Assist hiring managers in recruitment, developing job descriptions and onboarding of new employees.
    • Communicate HR Policies and procedures effectively to managers and staff.
    • Work with senior leaders, brokers and providers to negotiate and oversee all employee benefits including; medical, dental, vision, dental, life insurance, 401-k, etc.
    • Train and assist employees and managers with leave procedures for FMLA, disability, ADA.
    • Able to work with outside vendors and providers to control costs of employee benefits and related expenses.
    • Work with providers to oversee payroll and benefit administration.
    • Conduct annual benefit enrollments and informational meetings.
    • Identify, develop and provide analytics to support the development and refinement of HR initiatives in support of company goals.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources.
    • SPHR/PHR certifications a plus.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Advanced skills in Excel.
    • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards.
    • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and applications.
    • Able to interact well with leaders, management and staff at all levels.
    • Accessible to staff and ability to intercede and diffuse employee relations issues.
    • Ability to maintain confidences and build management and employee trust.
