Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned apartment maintenance professional with high-level apartment maintenance skills to join our client's Roving Maintenance team! The Roving Maintenance Technician will support all of our client's properties with general maintenance, apartment turnovers and all aspects of the physical operations of our client's apartment communities. This includes the responsibility to ensure that our client's standards are met in each of the following areas: preventative maintenance, general maintenance and repair, safety and security, physical condition, market appeal, customer service promises, and utility conservation standards. The Roving Maintenance Technician will report to the Roving Maintenance Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair functions including:

• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Appliance repair
• Air handler and general HVAC maintenance
• Lock changes
• Apartment turnovers
• Preventative maintenance
• Installation and repair of window coverings, doors, cabinets, light fixtures, etc;

• Must have proven knowledge and experience in all areas of general maintenance.
• Must have demonstrated high-level skills in apartment maintenance.

• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to complete daily tours between properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, common areas, hallways, stairwells, and apartment homes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull.
  • Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.
  • Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.

Compensation, Work Hours & Location

This is a 90 day Contract to Hire role. Once converted to full time employee, our client offers an impressive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement plan, generous paid time off and an employee assistance program. Typical work hours for our client's Roving Maintenance team are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with some flexibility to accommodate the needs of the position and the staff person. Maintenance Technicians have No On-Call! This position will work in-person, onsite at our client's  properties, with occasional work at the Central Office and off-site training and meeting facilities.
