Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for one of our client’s team to help manage their Minneapolis Portfolio. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in residential maintenance – multi-family experience is required, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. Boilers experience is required but certifications are strongly preferred. This is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

This role will be working with (8) properties within affordable housing and 350 units.

Salary: $25-$28/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Weekly schedule: Monday-Friday: 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm. On-Call: rotates one week per month among the Supervisor and 3 technicians.

The Maintenance Technician will be expected to maintain the physical maintenance operations of the property through attention to service that affects the overall cleanliness, appearance, quality of the property and its presentation to current and future residents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing a variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance repairs for residential apartments and apartment buildings.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Responsible for conducting property inspections and documenting/reporting issues at properties
• Maintain positive tenant relationships
• Follow safety rules
• Complete work orders and after hours on call requests in accordance with company policy and procedure
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Complete preventive maintenance on all building systems
• Maintaining the exterior of the properties to provide a clean and aesthetic curb appeal at all times
• Preform maintenance of common areas, hallways, stairwells, trash chutes and grounds maintenance
• Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy by preforming all necessary repairs
• Repairing, replacing and or transferring appliances
• Diagnose and preform repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. This includes but is not limited to windows, doors and screens, painting, grout and tile work, flooring and any other common repair needed in an apartment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience in residential maintenance - multi-family experience is REQUIRED.
• Boilers experience is required, certifications are highly preferred.
• Experience in unit turns, preventative maintenance, work orders and emergency response.
• AppFolio experience is preferred.
• Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation as there will be on-call rotation after conversion.
• Be able to successfully pass a background check before employment.
