Job Description

We are an on-growing small business in Rockville, Maryland, which works with numerous Venture Capital businesses.

We are looking for a candidate with strong and proven US-GAAP bookkeeping experience to facilitate a group of 30-40 accounting clients. The daily routing of the workflow will include the following:

• Work with our outside six contractors as they perform the company full cycle monthly-end close out.

• Has experience and is comfortable in recording the following Journal Entries:

ü Deferred Revenue.

ü Apply Bank-Credit Card-Books reconciliation.

ü Review and reconcile the AP and the AR reports.

ü Review clients bills and determine whether or not an accrual, fixed asset or a prepaid entry should be recorded and to the relevant period.

ü Record investors’ debt or equity transactions.

ü Post Payroll Journal Entries or propose adjustments.

• Communicate to the company CEO the monthly close out progress and issues which prevent the completion of the monthly cycle.

• Deliver the compiled and reconciled financial statements to the clients and address clients follow-ups such as: Reclass posting answer questions, provide additional reports as the client ask, communicate any discrepancies to the staff , etc

• Engage and communicate with the clients in case the firm needs additional information or needs to address ongoing bookkeeping-related questions.

• Work with our tax team to prepare the income tax worksheet and the sales tax nexus study report.

• Upload client payments into the client bank account and alert the clients that they are ready for approval.

• Work closely with the company CEO and the CPAs as needed.

The ideal candidate with hold the following skills and experience:

· Accustomed to work independently and have had light supervision experience.

· Communication skill, since the position requires engaging clients.

· Minimum 3 years of US GAAP experience.

· Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word documents.

· Detail oriented with the ability to learn new client industries.

· Willing to learn the venture capital industry.
