    We are seeking a FULLY REMOTE PROJECT COORDINATOR II to support the NASA STEM Services (NSTEM) contract at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. This full-time dedicated employee must be flexible, hard-working and proactive in order to support the NASA STEM Engagement Recruitment functional area. Our mission is developing and implementing strategies to inspire, inform, and involve a diverse pool of applicants for NASA Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) activities, with a focus on underrepresented and underserved populations.

    SUMMARY

    The PROJECT COORDINATOR II will directly support Royal Consulting's participation in NSTEM, a new agency-wide acquisition to provide a comprehensive education portfolio comprised of a broad and diverse set of programs, projects, activities, products, and related services for NASA OSTEM. NSTEM aspires to drive America's Strategy for STEM Education; and seeks to contribute to a STEM education ecosystem that consists of multi-sector partners.

    Royal Consulting Firm's involvement is part of a collective vision to support participation in STEM through the creation of accessible and inclusive STEM learning opportunities spanning all educational stages and career pathways. The position of PROJECT COORDINATOR II will report to the Functional Area Lead during the term of the project. The PROJECT COORDINATOR II will assist in the management duties of project team members and ensuring the efficient execution of CORE and ID/IQ project deliverables. The PROJECT COORDINATOR II provides requested updates to the project dashboards and supports monitoring and governance of quality and schedule for assigned projects. ****

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This Project Coordinator II leads and/or supports Engagement Recruitment efforts for assigned OSTEM activities, projects and initiatives to include: _

    • Word of Mouth Engagements

    OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

    1. Assists Functional Area Lead in monitoring project progress; creates project status reports for project managers and stakeholders as needed.
    2. Assists with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks on time.
    3. Manages documents such as the project plan, schedule or scope statement, as directed by the project manager.
    4. Coordinates project management activities, resources, equipment and information.
    5. Monitors project progress and assists with handling any issues that arise.
    6. Assists Project Managers and the Functional Area Lead, as necessary, to eliminate blockers.
    7. Maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.
    8. Reviews weekly and monthly project controls deliverables for compliance with contract documents, providing feedback and assists Project Manager to resolve outstanding issues.
    9. Attends and prepares accurate meeting minutes for all meetings with the Project Manager, as directed.
    10. Conduct research, gather, and organize data/information into reports, and communicate information as needed.
    11. Ensures standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance processes.

    This position requires a flexible work schedule to include night or daytime hours, weekends, holidays and/or overtime to support the various schedules for these activities, as well as travel.

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Expertise and experience in strategic communications, outreach, recruitment, marketing, content development and/or other related areas.
    • Proven work experience as a Project Manager, Coordinator or similar
    • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
    • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
    • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
    • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience (e.g., Business Administration).
    • 5+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning.
    • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrixed environment.
    • 5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with an understanding of development and various technology methodologies.
    • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and/or senior leaders.
    • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
    • Proven ability to work in complex environments and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective.
    • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.
    • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.

    You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

    • 10+ years of proven experience in strategic communications, education or outreach.
    • Experience managing and implementing engagement at regional or national levels.
    • Proficiency in developing, managing, and marketing successful and sophisticated cross-channel engagements.
    • Experience supporting NASA and/or other federal government agencies
