Job Description
We are creating a key new position as Procurement Manager to be our primary contact with our suppliers and vendors.
Responsibilities for Procurement Manager
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and suppliers/vendors
- Maintain relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
- Identify potential suppliers/vendors based on project requirements
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
- Maintain and track all in-house inventory and ensure pricing is market-based and current.
- Manage all company purchases of supplies and materials
- Dispatch vendors, as appropriate, to complete client-requested work orders that are outsourced.
- Process purchase orders to acquire goods and services
- Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company
- Attend meetings with the legal team, engineering team, vendors and suppliers
Qualifications for Procurement Manager
- Extensive experience (at least 5 years) working in the procurement department in a related field
- Bachelor's degree in purchasing management preferred
- Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
- Highly organized and process-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Works well as an independent player within a team environment
