We are an employment law firm in Fairfield, New Jersey, that gets employers and employees to stop fighting so everyone can get back to business. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to handle key customer service and administrative responsibilities related to client retention, intake, direct attorney support, and office management. Our Legal Assistant helps create memorable experiences for our clients and everyone else who contacts our firm, whether in person or by telephone while providing excellent support to our team. This position requires empathy, experience, and skill.  We are looking for someone with people skills and organizational talent to help us grow our business. The person we hire must bring energy, positivity, and a “can-do” attitude to work. Our standard office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you’re interested, so are we. Compensation is based on ability and experience. Raises and bonuses are your rewards for outstanding performance. The position offers: • Paid holidays, sick and vacation time • Health insurance • Retirement benefits • On-the-job training Responsibilities: We need a competent and professional assistant who: • Smiles when you answer the phone • Learns new tasks and systems quickly • Conquers calendars, email, spreadsheets, word processing, and the internet • Is positive and does not live for drama • Does not freak out when clients get upset • Looks for opportunities inside problems • Can change gears quickly and juggle multiple tasks effectively • Understands the importance of doing good work, on time • Can deal with a boss who is always busy, might not always give direction, is a stickler for spelling and grammar, might get distracted by new, exciting things, and hates dealing with administrative stuff • Is not afraid to point out that you need more training or communication to get your job done • Treats a call at the end of the day on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning • Is able and willing to hand off receptionist and intake duties to someone else when we hire those people • Knows you sometimes need to make a joke to get through the day Qualifications: You are proficient in: • Office 365 – including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive • Apple computers • Client correspondence • Legal documents • Sales or customer service Bonus points if you: • Are a notary public • Have QuickBooks experience • Are familiar with customer relationship management (“CRM”) software • Are familiar with case management software ("CMS") • Have marketing/social media experience STILL INTERESTED?
