    Job Description

    Overview

    The purpose of the Risk and Safety Administrator is to communicate, organize, and report essential insurance and safety information to adhere to compliance standards, while improving safety results and mitigating risks.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the completion of projects across workers' compensation, liability claims, risk identification and evaluation, insurance, safety, loss control, and policy documentation.
    • Prepare and maintain a variety of files, logs, and records; input, maintain, and track data utilizing a computerized database system related to areas of assignment.
    • Communicate with all adjusters with pertinent claim information including demographic changes, work status changes, and medical records if received.
    • Provide associate demographics, including wage, address, contact, and date of hire for workers’ compensation claims to adjuster within 24 hours.
    • Manage and collect reimbursement from 3rd parties who cause damage to our businesses.
    • Work closely with the operations and HR teams to assure consistency and accountability when safety measures are not utilized causing an incident, near miss, or injury.
    • Manage the associate off-work report, compare it to workers’ compensation leave of absence (LOA), and notify adjusters.
    • Manage post-accident safety reviews on every incident with follow up to stores or DC.
    • Produce modified return to work document for all workers comp (WC) related restrictions and track on OSHA reporting.
    • Provide monthly allocation of fees and expenses for Risk Management.
    • Forward legal documents for review by risk manager, the legal department, and adjusters.
    • Manage certificate of insurance documentation and assist in yearly insurance renewal process.
    • Log insurance renewal invoices and obtain approval from Director of Risk and Safety.
    • Administer the workflow process of OSHA and state reporting across all locations.
    • Update and maintain SOP and reference documents.
    • Assist Director of Risk and Safety with reporting, including P&L, dashboard, and safety team reports.
    • Coordinate scheduling of loss control visits.
    • Manage District Management (DM) forklift audits.
    • Manage bi-yearly store manager store inspection and complete follow up tracking.
    • Expand knowledge within risk management regularly.
    • Complete presentation and present monthly AC/ASM/SM risk management training webinar.
    • Complete presentation and present AC/ASM/SM AC webinar.
    • Manage and develop daily/monthly safety topics.
    • May be required to cross train and perform other duties.

    Qualifications

    • At least 1 year of relative experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong understanding of retail business practices.
    • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
