WEDDING EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST
We’re looking for a customer-centric Wedding Specialist with a warm, can-do attitude and incredible attention to detail. As an Event Specialist on our wedding team, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing client relationships. You will guide and propose food, beverage, and specialty rental selections, develop floor plans, and detail timelines. This position is responsible for selling and producing the events from start to finish including the night of execution.
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-exempt
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 (Base Rate + Commissions included)
Home Office: Newport RI / Attleboro MA
IN THE ROLE OF WEDDING SPECIALIST, YOU WILL WEAR MANY HATS BUT YOUR FOCUS WILL BE CRUCIAL IN THE FOLLOWING:
- Ensuring inquiries and leads are responded to in an enthusiastic and timely manner
- Identifying, qualifying, negotiating, and closing on leads to meet or exceed sales goals
- Effectively communicating our services and solutions to potential and existing customers with passion and excitement
- Supporting a culture of no client should be a one-time client.
- Partnering with Operations and Kitchen Departments to ensure events are correctly prepared for and executed
- Adhering to internal production deadlines
- Working closely with Culinary in the development of quality, creative and timely presentations, tastings, and proposals
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive files with proposals and clients
- Coordinate event production to include but not limited to proposal writing, menu procurement, equipment and logistics, Synergy data management, day-of coordination, and profitability goals.
- Partnering with Accounting/Billing to ensure compilation of accurate final billing and the collection of accounts receivable
- Understanding the overall market, our competitors' strengths, and weaknesses, economic trends, etc.
- Maintaining an exemplary level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues.
- Developing a holistic understanding of RMC&E Core Values
- Performing other relevant duties as required.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION, YOU MUST:
- Demonstrate excellent written and strong communication skills to understand and identify customer needs and communicate the value
- Remain up-to-date on current food and beverage trends and extreme comfort and familiarity with all food products offered by our chefs
- Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of our services and offerings
- Think outside the box
- Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and potential customers
- Demonstrate understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques
- Deliver superior customer service
- Demonstrate integrity and ethical standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of event experience; preferably in off-premise catering
- 2 or more years of wedding planning experience
- Ability to think strategically, but also have exceptional attention to detail
- Superior organizational skills, presentation/public speaking skills
