The Global Sourcing and NPI Supply Chain Manager (GSSCM) manages the commercial relationship with assigned Commodities/Suppliers. This relationship begins with sourcing and ends at Supplier disengagement. The GSSCM engages with R&D, SQE, Planning, Finance, and Regulatory to identify, qualify, and select new suppliers. The GSSCM leads supplier evaluation, selection, and qualification during the development process. The GSSCM manages the supplier relationship throughout the engagement including: quality performance (in partnership with SQE), delivery (in partnership with Planning), and material costs, and cost reduction targets and plans The SC PM manages the assigned commodities assurance of supply, single and dual sourcing, and capacity constraints to ensure that suppliers meet short and long-term delivery targets. The GSSCM manages Supplier excess and obsolescence costs. The SSCM works closely with Operations Management to develop strategic initiatives to improve overall Supply Chain performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Engage early with R&D to identify the need for a new Supplier, and leads the Supplier evaluation and selection process with R&D, SQE and Regulatory
* Collaborate closely with R&D and Suppliers during development to manage delivery schedule and cost; supports development purchasing process
* Provide periodic product cost estimates, and mitigation plans to achieve targets
* Work with Ops Management and Planning to align forecasted demand with supply capacity planning.
* Maintain knowledge of key suppliers in assigned commodities, develops on-going relationships, and understands capabilities well
* Keep abreast of Supply Chain trends and commodity pricing that may affect assurance of supply and costs
* Lead Manufacturing/Supplier transition projects to setup new processes, close existing processes, manage supply during transition, and minimize transition costs and disruptions
* Mitigate Supplier disruptions to achieve supply targets
COMPETENCIES
* Demonstrate deep expertise in Supply Chain Management, Supplier Quality, and MedTech product development best practices.
* Demonstrate deep understanding of the assigned commodities and key Suppliers in commodity space
* Demonstrate strong business case analysis skills including “should-cost” analysis, competitive MVA, and global sourcing total costs
* Demonstrate strong Supply Chain Management skills to lead Suppliers and internal teams to accomplish objectives
Requirements
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Technical Degree with equivalent business experience
3 years’ experience in supply chain management, sourcing, and project management.
Preferred:
5 years’ experience in supply chain management, sourcing, and project management.
Master’s in business administration
Experience with global sources in ODM/OEM; Contract Manufacturing (PCBA and Box Build) and Complex Cable and Wire harness Assembly
