The Assistant Warehouse Manager will support the management and daily operations of Russell’s Bromeliads by efficiently performing the 4 Core Functions of this role (further outlined below): 1) Customer Service, via phone and email (and in-person, as required); 2) Processing Customer Orders; 3) Warehouse and Fulfillment Tasks, such as reviewing orders pulled are correct, making tags, and packing orders; and 4) General Leadership, among other on-site supervisors, in support of and in the absence of the Warehouse Manager. Compensation: • Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000 • Paid Time Off • Growth Potential Responsibilities: CUSTOMER SERVICE • Review and action overnight customer orders, email communication, and voicemails • Respond to customer email and voicemail inquiries/concerns on-the-spot • Route non-order emails and voicemail requests to internal staff members for action • Daily customer management and communication, from change requests, shipping, or other issues with their order, to address any complaints or concerns raised • Answer phones and check missed call messages and emails throughout the day PROCESSING CUSTOMER ORDERS • Review and validate sales orders generated by our website • Create sales orders in Quickbooks Enterprise (desktop) for orders received by email, phone, or fax • Ensure all orders have the correct shipping, billing, and payment information • Ensure all orders can be fulfilled as requested, based on inventory availability • Use judgment to determine outbound shipping method and timing, depending on order size, shipping locations, time of week and year, available resources, and customer needs • Assign verified orders to Order Pullers and Finished Products team • Assign and/or prepare tags for all items, per customer requirements WAREHOUSE AND FULFILLMENT TASKS • Quality control order fulfillment, including order accuracy, packing, logistics, shipping method, and weather-prepping • Coordinate and confirm the accuracy of outbound shipping with truck lines and FedEx/UPS, including paperwork and box count • Personally fill in and augment staff as needed, including pulling and packing orders • Order supplies and any other general items and services, as required by the business • Ensure overall physical security of the facility and greenhouses at the end of each workday GENERAL LEADERSHIP • Hiring, training, and people management within the department • Coordinate, encourage, and adopt pull-pack-ship best practices for our business across other departments, and resolve issues as they arise • Perform on-the-spot internal and external problem-solving • Handle/arbitrate people issues that escalate above other department supervisors, in the absence of the Warehouse Manager • Act as a conduit between employees and company executive Qualifications: • High School Degree/ GED required, 2+ years of College preferred; minimum of 2-3 years Team Lead/Supervisor experience required • Customer service oriented • Professional oral and written communication skills • Strong expertise navigating MS Windows operating system and Google workspace and apps (Google drive, sheets, docs, and Gmail) • Ideally, already have strong fluency (or MUST be able to obtain excellent fluency) in Quickbooks desktop • MS Office (as needed) • Great organization and detail-oriented skills • Handle multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced team environment, and requires the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines • Strong problem solver • Project management and research skills • Trustworthy and dependable • Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action • Have great physical stamina (ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods of time), with a high tolerance for heat • Learning-based and easily coachable • Bilingual Spanish a plus Compensation: $35,000 - $40,000
